Rod Pearce

Rod Pearce was born in 1942 and graduated from Chelsea Art School in 1964. He worked as an illustrator before becoming a professional artist in 1989.

Since 1990, he has had numerous one man exhibitions and many mixed ones. He has also shown in public exhibitions such as the NEAC and the RI.  His work hangs in many private collections throughout the workd including well-known politicians, actors and professionals. He has also done illustration work, commissions for films and three large paintings for the Queen Mary II ocean liner.

He takes great inspiration for his work from his travels and city surroundings.  The Thames, a local common or well-known Venetian setting are subjects he likes to explore.  He captures the atmosphere and light of his subject perfectly such that the viewer can share with the artist a moment of discovery.  Rod Pearce is a well-established artist who has been recognised over the last twenty years by a number of the most prominent British galleries and collectors both in London and throughout the UK.

“Painting enhances observation and deepens appreciation for being able to see. It is a joy to use a sensuous medium like oil paint and a challenge to work within a centuries old tradition that has produced so many fine artists that have communicated the grandeur and beauty of creation.”
